Right now it looks like the most feasible thing is for me and my husband to live separately for a year. We would not be the first couple to have to do this because of work stuff. We've evaluated what we want long term and since it would just be a year.... I still want to stay home from work and just cry today.
It's just not reasonable for me to give up my job without any guarantee of work and follow for what they're paying him. But it's enough for one person to make it work in a little studio.
He would be happier in that little studio doing what he loves than here with me not doing anything/doing something he loves. Lack of employment has been so bad for him. And it's only a year. After that it can be remote. So. We negotiate but we plan.
At least I feel like there's more meaning to the 10th wedding anniversary quilt I made him, if he's gonna be sleeping under it somewhere else.
@ruth Ah, that sounds rough but with a firm end date it might be easier to plan for things.
@annaneat yes and it would kind of leave me open to explore opportunities.
I'm just gonna cry an awful lot.
