there was a logn and heated post about ER staff patient priority on my dashboard and i shouldnt have read all of it but i did and now im shaking
@voyagerwitch where is it
@raindare are you sure. it's got graphic descriptions of painful emergency medical conditions and also the common medical practice of thinking pain doesnt matter
@raindare ok. content warning for the things mentioned above i guess https://sparkylurkdragon.tumblr.com/post/171360924541/the-louder-you-are-in-the-er-waiting-room-the
@voyagerwitch reading this post and first thought: wow op sucks even by the standards of slipping medical practice
@voyagerwitch i mean sure. being loud might mean that er staff are paying less attention. But just because something's correct, doesn't mean it's right.
@voyagerwitch "acute jaded power trip" is actually a serious problem among senior medical staff complicated by the emotional fatigue that they go through but its still not acceptable
@voyagerwitch its an even more significant problem for gps who run their own practice but its at least not immediately fatal in such cases
@raindare and i understand a principle of continuity makes that hard to work around even by throwing more money and employees at it. but it still sucks
