i gotta say. ghost's suggestion of call of cthulhu where its a woman in a very nice dress convincing you that she murdered everyone in this small english town with magic and you have a fantasy stat instead of a sanity stat is actually remarkably viable

if you gain a large amount of fantasy at one time you roll on a table and one of the results is your character crying and pointing at the source of their conflict while shouting any theories that come to mind

@raindare i barely know anything abotu call of cthulhu btu i would fuckign play this game

@kaguya its not great, being based on lovecraft, and a big element is that you don't get very much control over hwat your character does or their situation (contrast dungeon world). you pick your actions but losing sanity causes your character to suffer the vagaries of Epic Ableism and theyll often fail to do things or be forced to do things you might not want

raindare @raindare

@kaguya and while the world is shaped by the gm in virtually all tabletop, its not like dungeon world or even more casual D&D where you can chip in suggestions about the setting; there IS a defined story and the gm is the one who most shapes it
