Telling leftists about all the shit Hitler did like national parks, state-sponsored companies, a national union, and the autobahn is like Darth Vader telling Luke he's his father.

"THAT'S IMPOSSIBLE! IT'S NOT TRUE!"

Now he's still a piece of absolute human filth, on the other hand it doesn't make the ideas inherently bad.

You know, the whole ethnic cleansing thing and hyper-nationalist bullshit? And restricting people's freedoms? /That/ stuff is what made Hitler really bad.

@Elizafox Except the national union was a effectively useless institution since it was indirectly controlled by the owners of all the big industry. And the Autobahn was not a radical new idea, using effectively forced labor to build it quickly was

@elomatreb @Elizafox yeah the point was to shut down workers dissent.

the state sponsoring businesses is something they regularly do when things are not working properly, its just using the state to get capitalism working properly.

and national parks where presumably copied of America where they throw the natives off the land.

i really don't see why this should be shocking to leftists unless they have bought the right wing lie that the state doing anything is socialism

@radicalgraffiti @elomatreb No there was genuine environmental motives

Hitler was elected on a platform of supporting the worker. That's actually the part people forget. Most people didn't care about the racism. This is a lot of the reason Trump got elected.

But the left wants to rewrite history.

@Elizafox @elomatreb trump pretty much got the same republican voters that republicans normally get. The

the nazis never go a majority without banning all the other parties, and relied heavily on suppression of there opponents before that.
it seems that the first big nazi gains came from the great depression, and a campaign of blaming the jews and communists, i haven't read a huge amount on the nazis, but mostly it seems to agree that majority of there support came from the middle classes eg wikopedia " The Nazis' strongest appeal was to the lower middle-classes – farmers, public servants, teachers, small businessmen"
