I'm a huge fucking nerd so I made a spreadsheet tracking EMS shipping progress of all my past orders and based on this, there was one package that was processed around 6:30 PM and still made it here the next day, so, uh, *looks at clock and sweats*

The best thing about Mastodon right now is the incredibly indie slant to the creators who've migrated here. Queer folks, folks of color, and women creating and telling their own stories in a space unencumbered by industry gatekeeping sentiments? This is great.

If you just have one account on one instance, you may not realize that Mastodon federation -- the means by which toots are sent from instance to instance -- is not instantaneous.
It may be seconds or minutes for a toot to traverse even directly connected instances. This depends on server load and how many messages are in the queue.
