@Estelwen YES! I felt like the film was trying to get me to dislike her, but I was suspicious of that, and for good reason.

@ceiphiedknight@tenforward.social Yeah, I can get that. I'm still not entirely sure how I feel about it beyond a general sense of liking it, but I'm hoping to see it again and get a better handle on it.

I had so many feelings about Leia and Carrie Fisher ahhhh. I almost cried when I saw her on screen for the first time, and then the tribute to her in the credits.

Apparently people are dissing her scene where she flies back to the ship. The force is just space magic, everyone, no need to get so worked up about it. I thought it was interesting - she's been connected to the force all her life but not really acted on it until now.

And the next movie really will be all about the new generation with the loss of Carrie, sob. I'm looking forward to it! I'll see if I can see the movie at least one more time in theaters.

I enjoyed it a lot! I'm not really sure why people were disappointed? I saw it got bad audience reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. The only thing I found kinda ehhh was the whole casino/codebreaker subplot. Seemed like a waste of time.

I am SO happy that Rey's parents were just regular (if shitty) people. I absolutely did not want her to have secretly been a Skywalker all along. It goes along with what Luke was trying to get across - the force is in everything and everyone, and it doesn't just belong to Jedi.

I really like Rose a lot but I'm kinda annoyed about the thing at the end with her and Finn.
