@punsandpotions yeah it's... frustrating when people try to make it about human nature...

@punsandpotions I agree, it's a really outdated and misread story.

I think it sticks around in the public consciousness because it makes for such good drama. Dr. Zimbardo's hubris and recklessly unscientific behavior put a bunch of kids' lives at risk for the sake of a dumb hypothesis.

But you're right, people try to interpret it's "conclusions" as insightful or significant all of the time.
