i swear at times she's got to be in my head somehow when at least two supporting actors share uncanny features — namely, the eyes — with two people i came to know from the same place and time in my life. there hasn't been a single thing i've seen — except for bound perhaps — in which it feels like my head *isn't* being mined for ideas or a dialectic on some level

also, can i give a shoutout to johnny klimek, theme co-writer for s8?

he was the youngest sib of three in a german-australian band i listened to (and bought both the cassette *and* the CD back when they were in print) back in ’87 called The Other Ones. the klimeks — the austalian half — were mostly known for their one-hit wonder from late ’86, "Holiday" (sometimes called "(Another) Holiday"), but it was their other big single, "We Are What We Are", which always stuck with me.

as an aside-aside: i've always adored everything about jayney's style in the music video (jayney is his sister and lead vocalist)

i envy tinkerers who are good with soldering irons and who can make making clean solders. i'm never going to be one of them

also tonight i'm having a rise in general anxiety, no known cause, despite the two anti-Ds i'm on, so i've just taken a beta blocker for
bringing that down a bit hopefully

the drop after this new anti-D's half-life window passes is intense, even brutal. i think i said this last day, but tho there's nothing addictive about the med and it isn't a controlled substance, i now have a better sense of what withdrawal symptoms for someone who's dopesick might experience: mostly a sense of "oh crap, here it comes" along with the body viscerally reacting in several very unpleasant ways

if this is a price to pay for putting my major depression into some kind of remission, then so be it. i just hope the world supply doesn't suddenly dry out one day

new self-care plan:

to start keeping a week's supply of my new anti-D on hand with me at all times and to always refill the empty cubbies in the pill carrier every day so that there's always a full week on tap

the other, old anti-D doesn't need this kind of fastidious attention
