having to move after living in the same place for over a half-dozen years is a heartbreak. moving as you get older is harder

i promised to take pictures of my tortured old phone with the phone i finally set up and share them with all the witches. it's nsfw for technophiles who might find the damage painful to look at… plus sharp shards

despite the screen and the leftmost part being unresponsive (no Q or 1), it still all functions. unfortunately, spare parts for that colour vanished ages ago or i would have replaced them instead of replacing it

i'll take a picture of my tortured old phone with the new phone once it's done updating and post it. it's been tortured for almost a year and a half

if i treat this phone decently, it should last me for at least as long as my tortured old phone of three years, but hopefully longer because i hate planned obsolescence like i hate capitalism

after all that effort to try the other image and realizing that it made my phone sluggish and very warm, i went back to factory, but now at least it's rooted. it's fine. i wasted many days on this, but it was an experience of learning i'll likely to forget pretty quickly since idt i'm going to be flashing phones very often

update: i found a factory image, ran it, and got back the imei. so my phone isn't soft-bricked. now finally upping the build i wanted to try in the first place. if it works, then eureka

wow. just catching up with an old friend, who's going into surgery next week to donate half her liver because that's just who she is

thing she taught me which has blown my mind: the donated part of the liver can grow back in a healthy person

it's very a rainy day, and i don't want to go outside. so i'll resume working on this today and determine whether i lost the cellular data vitals or not. i really hope not. my brain shut down just after i jinxed the previous, so i've left it alone whilst trying to regenerate my brain and body

i think i software-bricked the phone by losing/wiping the IMEI when i rooted it

geez, setting up your computer to unlock your android device is anything but straightforward
