i love how people constantly forget that working for a company is COMPLETELY TRANSACTIONAL.
you're providing services in exchange for money. you're not usually even being compensated anywhere near a fair amount, considering that you're dumping your life into this arrangement.
you don't owe any loyalty to that system. it's just a fucking machine

there's a thing abusers do, where they antagonize or physically annoy/assault their victim until the victim has an anger/self defense response and hits the abuser, which allows the abuser to claim that they are actually the one being abused, sometimes able to show off a bruise or mark as "proof."

1. platform comes out with hot new stuff (twitter, patreon, etc.)
2. platform grows huge, becomes the de-facto one of its kind, other ones wither
3. now owning everything, platform changes everything for the worse (for its own profits ofc)

by the time 3 hits all the smaller platforms are usually too small/dead to be palatable so everyone's forced to stay on the shitty bad one
