Since Mastodon is such an artistic community, what's the best way to get Photoshop legally? Is the CC/subscription model really the only/best way? Will be running on 2015 MBP i5 w/ 16GB RAM.

@muraii What do you need it for? Because for drawing/painting Clip Studio Paint is great and it's often on sale. i still come back to PS (I have cs5 tho) for some things but I do majority of my work in CSP now.

@p_the_wanderer I'm trying to get back to drawing and would like to try my hand at digital. I _thought_ I still had a Wacom Bamboo but I don't. Still, I think I'm going to give Krita a run.

@muraii I heard lots of good about Krita, so definitely give it a try :) (Also when you're playing: Clip Studio Paint has a monthly trial - that's enough to see if you like how it works. UI has some problems with hiding great functionality but damn if I'd want to stop using it now)

@p_the_wanderer @muraii Clip Studio Paint/Manga Studio is a cheaper alternative and as well as Paintstorm studio, even though the brush setting can get rather hectic.
Another option with CC is to opt for the Photography plan which is Lightroom + Photoshop for $10-20/month
