I should mention. This cannon had a meter long barrel and could launch tennis ball sized projectiles. We launched a bouncy ball over the baseball field and never saw it again.

In high school I built a potato canon that operated on axe body spray. Occasionally also off repellent.

you can definitely make a pvc spud gun that could launch the cans. for way under 500.

provided they make pvc pipes of that diameter, but you could always pad the cans, might also be better for reach.
