finally got Daria to sit down for the first episode, just watching on Crunchyroll

seeing Homura getting beaten down at the beginning, knowing the context now...I just started crying immediately

I guess I've come to identify painfully closely with her struggle, just...trying again and again and _again_

it burns me up to think that all her effort, all her _determination_, ends up amounting to nothing in the end (q.v. "Rebellion")
