i think what kills me is the thing that actually prompted the convo was talking about if nazi furs are really nazis

i explained that nazi furs wear nazi flags and uniforms, and often self-id as nazis an spew nazi ideology, and her take was that ... they weren't nazis. actually, the real nazis are SJWs!

her point is that "national socialism" and "liberal socialism" are the same thing, the only difference is who they want in power, and assured me that she did her research

and i mean we argued for a bit but at the end of the day if you look at someone going "i'm a nazi" and another person going "i want to redistribute wealth from the rich so that poor people don't die" and go "the second person sounds suspect" then you're letting yourself be blinded by bias.

i've literally been there, i know this, i WAS THIS PERSON. "i do research, i have logic, i'm right" but ur just cherry picking shit that validates what you wanna believe in

she honestly cited people online going "white ppl are BAD" as proof that SJWs are violent.. like, no offense? but if you go "being mean online is Violence" for one side but dismiss is when its the other side (she doesnt support GG but she thinks it "wasnt that bad" and "well SJWs harassed ppl too") then thats bias at work. how do you even get through to someone that they're not some kind of enlightened genius, they're just covering their ears and humming

i've known her for almost 10 years? she didn't used to be like this? we used to talk about our different viewpoints and she would thank me for expanding her worldview. i know i got in some really weird spaces politically for a while & i'm sure that she probably still thinks i'm a dipshit bc of it, but i never expected her to have done such a horrible fucking heel turn when i wasn't looking. jesus.
