My biggest stumbling block in learning to speak Thai is getting used to using aspect words, rather than tense, to express WHEN something happened.
In English and French, tense is used to tell when things happened in relation to other things; it contextualizes things temporally.
In contrast, aspect uses words to give temporal qualities to an action/event - has it started? How long did/will it take? Is it completed? Etc.
Takes a huge adjustment in thought >.>

Please keep spreading this, even if you can't give anything. Eviction would make me homeless, but the main concern is that my girlfriend will be forced to detransition which is (as I'm sure some of you know) a literal death sentence. I would never recover from losing her; she is a beautiful person, and just starting to find things to love about herself. She is my only family. Help me save her life.
Today we are driving three hours to DC, paying for transition lab work, and then coming back to figure out how we're going to pay rent. It's due tomorrow. Following that, car payment to avoid repossession, power bill to avoid shutoff... etc.
If any of these things fall through, we are BOTH in serious trouble, but my girlfriend in particular is 6 months into her transition and stopping it WILL kill her. Please, please help us.

We paid the electric bill (thanks to the people who helped!!) but we still have to pay rent ($750) within a few days and a car payment ($180) shortly after that. If the car were to be repossessed or we could not pay rent, my girlfriend would have to move home with her parents, to whom she has not come out. It would mean a pause in her transition and I am terrified for her safety if that happens! Please help, friends. And boost either way!! ❤️❤️❤️
