I keep thinking about how people around my age and younger (I'm 25) sometimes wonder why we don't have the future "we" were promised: flying cars, pneumatic tubes, etc.
But the reality is that that particular vision of the future wasn't promised to us at all. Our generation and most of the last were promised a cyberpunk dystopia, and that's what we're getting.
