Thaksin Shinawatra broke his two-year silence on Twitter today to say this:

มงแต็สกีเยอ เคยกล่าว "ไม่มีความเลวร้ายใด ที่จะยิ่งไปกว่าความเลวร้ายที่ได้กระทำโดยอาศัยอำนาจตามกฎหมายหรือในนามของกระบวนการยุติธรรม"

Montesquieu once said "There is no crueler tyranny than that which is perpetuated under the shield of law and in the name of the justice."

Thaksin has been living in exile since the military coup in 2006, despite being Thailand's longest-serving democratically-elected PM. His sister Yingluck, PM from 2011-2014, is assumed to have fled Thailand prior to a sentencing that she and her family believe is politically motivated.
