What I learned you know, writing it's like a muscle. It is like running. It is like anything else that we do, singing, playing the violin, it is a lot of it is labour intensive, discipline intensive.

It is not all about inspiration and magic and being stoned or all of these things can play an interesting part. But really, to find a certain discipline and apply a work ethic to writing, you will get a lot more done.

today i went for a good long 2hour walk (9km) with our 11yo dog through the woods near our house and it felt really good for venting out the morning anxiety. i wish i could do it every day. it would do me really good psychologically as well as physiologically.

anyone knows is there a plan to implement !-groups on mastodon in foreseeable future?

am i wrong in feeling that tooting on a mastodon instance is so much more personal as opposed to that global public birdsite timeline blackhole where nobody would respond to anything i wrote? i have a feeling i could toot much more personal things, about things i feel vulnerable about, especially if i restrict the post to followers, and virtual acquaintances would respond with thoughtful responses... or is opening up on a social network a bad idea in general?

i think that today i had a little epiphany why I as a white cishet male am attracted to queer and also witchy scenes, why i find them more comfortable than the normalized chauvinist masculine exchanges - it's vulnerability. it so much about how we cis men are supposed to present ourselves in order to prove our worthiness in society. men don't cry or whine, men shouldn't be pussies, toughen up, got to be strong etc... i know it's all false, but my heart still doesnt. and it's conflicting inside.
