note to self: next self-imposed challenge: write music in with hidden pattern sequence matrix at all times! this will force me to focus on microstructures and work more from memory and imagination

@celesteh if you click on toot you should see other replies. but i also think on a federated net it is quite hard to implemet deletion and unset a fav. there was an email analogy somewhere. perhaps this is how things are. but perhaps i'm wrong.

my fantasy is that fb and tw have f'd themselves up with the ads, selling data and forcing us on algos and paying to 'boost' posts. there's so many people realising it's becoming bloated and useless. libre floss federated net ftw!

i'm 're-following' some people that i follow on GNUsocial quitter.se back here at witches.town

@basspistol i like adam harper. not so much a review-er, but amazing music writer. objectivity per se can exist but is overrated. things are much more complex.

@chris_martin GNUSocial and Mastodon are implementations of a protocol called OStatus, and so are ineroperable, but do not share any code.

PSA: If you are in the web view of a remote instance of some user or toot, you cannot directly reply/boost/fav.

But you can copypaste the URL into your local Mastodon server's "Search" field, then it allows you to interact!

Wasn't obvious to me, so maybe boost this if it helped you. :)

@celesteh i totally agree that UI is an important part of experience. somekind of algonoise.social pod would be an interesting endeavour to see and engage in if enough people would join... i also tried Tusky on Adroid and it's simply amazing - clean, fast, simple and functional. it doesn't work with plain gnusocial tho.

@celesteh maybe you can install GNU social - it seems it only really needs php+mariaDB+web-server. and then install qvitter for the web interface? never done it, but there seems no Ruby inthere

git.gnu.io/gnu/gnu-social/blob

git.gnu.io/h2p/Qvitter

So far I'm into how much Mastodon feels like every fictional dystopic cyberpunk BBS - the blooming politics of federations and collective vaporwave + witch + hacker imagery helps a lot. I'm living my own fantasy.

@sciss ok forget my last toot, i was wrong. that holds true for "my local version" of your toot - on an instance where i have my account. sorry for the noise.

Always happy to see kind words on a release on our music label:

"There’s also Lifecutter, another local whose twisted, experimental drone-techno is every bit as intense and unsettling as you’d expect from an artist who titled their debut album Death(c)rave. Close your eyes, and it’s easy to imagine being trapped in an android’s nightmare as the Matrix disintegrates around you, the witching hour a perfect setting for Domen Učakar’s dark art."

@luluberlu yeah, it's most often with images that are left linked to content from previous newsletter. you replace the image but forget to change the link.

ok, i know, using mailchimp - an email marketing tool - does not sound anticapitalist. but it's a free tool for informing people about what you are doing.

always hated when i made the newsletter in mailchimp and made mistakes with certain links - as duplicating previous campaing is easier that write the whole new one. now they have a nice link-checker tool where you check all your ... err... links.

just discovered @LVGHSTmusic it's soothing chillwave with great beats. name-your-price on bandcamp or patreon to support
