@dd86k yeah but the CPU ain't gonna change. you'll only run the routine once

busy adding __attribute__((fallthrough)) to some old code to satiate gcc
(actually just finished adding it, didn't take long)

@dd86k w-when would you ever run cpuid more than once

@dd86k are you ever gonna optimize something that is actually performace critical ;-;

he he. funsafe math optimizations.

...

they're fun! :3

@revenant even today, cockos (lead by ex-winamp dev) keeps their stuff pretty small. the latest reaper installer is a mere 9.6 MiB!

@Eramdam posting anything on HN is basically saying "release the hounds"

I get really discouraged anytime I try to type "because" in SwiftKey and it somehow comes out as "negate" or "beverage"

@Ronflaix some notes about Distance since i have (a little) experience with that: something it does is add a fourth, pink axis arrow along the tangent that you can click to add a new track segment, then use the normal three axes to position. you can also just click on an end node and add a prefab, then adjust its spline as normal (assuming it's a road piece).

@Ronflaix ah well, you could look at the Distance and F-Zero X track editors. neither of these are super intuitive (i particularly loathe having to control both the camera and its target in Distance) but they could lay some good groundwork.

@Ronflaix you mean like an ingame track editor?

also i plan on setting up a gitea of my all github stuff so y'all can keep boycotting github if you like… or for when they get DDoS'd. haven't decided if i wanna set it up on my droplet or raspi yet. maybe both? it might be tricky to keep synchronized but it's surely not an uncommon problem.

this has been playing lately for battles on twitchplayspokemon.
Now that's a catchy tune!

updated the readmes for a couple personal repos to cover new changes~
i don't imagine very many people even click on the repos since they're not really meant to be used by other people, but it feels good getting around to documenting stuff anyway, even loosely like this

@bentosmile yeah, i do make an effort to learn spellings this way! lately i've mainly been struggling with words like "extraneous" and doubled-up letters like "guinness", the latter of which duckduckgo won't warn you about if you miss a letter.

"why don't you have a spell-checker on your computer/in your workflow" idk weird habit

one thing that irks me about duckduckgo is that it sometimes silently corrects your spelling, so it's not as easy to just find out if you got a word right
