one thing that irks me about duckduckgo is that it sometimes silently corrects your spelling, so it's not as easy to just find out if you got a word right

@bentosmile yeah, i do make an effort to learn spellings this way! lately i've mainly been struggling with words like "extraneous" and doubled-up letters like "guinness", the latter of which duckduckgo won't warn you about if you miss a letter.
@notwa I feel like my spelling has become really lazy with spellcheck :( which sucks. so that's an excuse for not making it a habit at least!
