A long time ago I assembled a fairly decent collection of videogame ringtones from my favourite old games.
They're sorted by length: ringtones, short ringtones, and super-short notification sounds.
There's nothing quite like having a phone or computer that makes happy sounds when you get a message, instead of the corporate team-built focus-grouped inoffensive dreck that ships with your apps.

@NFG I'll check these out. I think the only problem is you can't play the games these are from without thinking your phone is going off!
