I think the place I'm at now with gamedev is that I've stopped playing games myself so subconsciously I don't understand why I'd make something for myself that I wouldn't use.
*side note, I've never actually put out anything, it's just something that's been in the back of my mind since I was a kid
then again, that interactive RD app I wrote comes decently close to a simple abstract game. and also, my argument is dumb because I learn ML stuff all the time and yet rarely do anything with it outside of some throwaway experiment code
