it's so important for people to realize all of this and get past thinking wanting/seeking attention is inherently negative.

it's kind of scary how wanting attention is so stigmatized in society. like some people cry, scream, or do whatever in public and they're immediately seen as an attention whore instead of a person who needs emotional support. like believe it or not when you've been emotionally neglected and abused enough from people you know, crying out for attention, even from strangers, means you're desperate and if you see someone like that you should help them rather than harass them.
