@yaymukund I don't think it's "nearby" the problem. It's more complicated.
In fact, in France we have 2 kind of schools: public and private. Public are payed by taxes so go to them is free. Private are paid by parents, if they want their children to go to them. Often, public schools have bad reputation so "rich" people send their children in private ones (and there is a lot more white rich people than rich POC). It creates a separation.
race, racism Afficher plus
@yaymukund Other problem: we have what's called "Habitat à Loyer Modéré", HML, can be traduce in "moderate rent housing". they are cheap houses and flats. Those houses are in the same place. So poor people live in the same place (and there is a lot more poor POC than white poor people). AND! You don't choose the primary school you go to if you use the public system, it depends on where you live. So you have schools full of people living in HML. After, when you go to high school, you choose the studies you want to do, ut often you just go when your friends go because when you're 11, how can you know what you want to do in your professional life...
