@blackle brushing the knot 'down' from the scalp pulls on all sides and is more likely to tighten it

@blackle like, dont try brushing the knot out from the head side, try like, vibrating it once the comb is in the knot, is the best advice i ever got

@blackle yeah, if you can get a real real fine toothed comb/pick you sorta can, you gotta just try inserting it in the knot, but its often not worth the effort

@blackle but before i figured out that solved the knotting problem thats how i fixed it

@blackle anyway i hated knots so i just coerce mine into braids instead

@blackle conditioner is thick, so it sometimes fluffs the hair up and makes the scales bind more, not less

@blackle not enough to make the hair greasy, but it'll make it so the scales of the hair slip better. then just kinda rub the sides of the knot until you can get some claws into the middle of it, or the top/edge, and just keep doin' til the knot comes undone

@blackle u can put (not warm) oil or some (not warm) water based lube on the knot and it'll come undone better

@blackle this sounds rediculous but the thing slowing me down was i was saying them in my head instead of just udnerstanding the words and once i stopped it stopped being so tiring, but its real hard to stop if you do that

@alyx important thing is it's liquid at skin surface temp so it doesn't explode into pimples

@alyx oh, yeah i suppose in warmer climes it would be worse, though I'm sure there are stabilizing oils that can bring it down to stable at 70 and 80f but not 96f
