Isn't that what the f/fs data export is for? Granted it takes doing the export/install dance, and hoping people will tag along at new address, but I find most do.

Combined with a mobile app for jumping between instances and you're as close as you'll get, I think.

I'm not sure you could merge f/fs across instances in a single instance UI, if I understand correctly, because of the potential for blocking an instance. But I'm not certain about all that.

@bea @wion even if its just send them all a persistent notfication they can dismiss or something -- it would make trying out new instances way less painful, and moving once you find one even less so

Ah, so just more of an automated process than what exists.

But, playing the devil's advo, what if not everyone wants to follow you over? You take the choice away from them. Make them have to opt out instead of in. I wouldn't want to be lead around like that.

@wion @bea no, i mean, not automatically follow, just a notification that sticks around for awhile bc everyone misses follow reqs if they have active notifications columns
