wow. just catching up with an old friend, who's going into surgery next week to donate half her liver because that's just who she is
thing she taught me which has blown my mind: the donated part of the liver can grow back in a healthy person

@patience i think its not much of a deficit but its such that you can only donate so many times without it not being good for transplating

@patience yeah bodies are really cool! livers and fingertips and i think thats it, are what regenerate
@nire for fingertips, only soft tissue, as i recall
@patience the bones only fully regenerate with pig stem cells, yeah, but the actual tip of finger including nailbed does regenerate until where the bone is iirc
