I took fortran in a languages class, and that was in the early 2000s and even then it was only for historical curiosity. now i'm just so baffled that a current class would tell you to use it for anything. at least C++ is still in heavy usage worldwide. sounds so strange to me.

@suetanvil oh yeah like I don't buy Apple products because of this increasing trend of bullshit. the real problem is that family members keep getting sucked into buying their shit and then I have to help them when it invariably goes sideways. it's so annoying that they're still seen as some sort of status symbol when everything they make now is just garbage.
