@ashkitten you don't even need ultrawide in my experience. 4k will do the trick if you sit close to it, since you can divide it up into 4 1080p sections. I do that for all my systems and it's the fuckin' bomb, especially since 4k monitors are no longer niche and can be had for relatively cheap.

so I got this awesome controller that attaches to my phone (https://www.motorola.ca/products/moto-mods/moto-gamepad-console) and I've been playing all sorts of emulators and stuff but I realized last night I could stream stuff from my PC to my phone via Moonlight (http://moonlight-stream.com/).

soooooo.

last night I spent 4 hours playing Persona 5 running in RPCS3 (https://rpcs3.net/) at 4k res, streamed to my phone with < 15ms frame delay. it works so fucking awesome it's crazy. and it's such a convoluted nerd thing, but it really is the best way to play ps3 games in bed. 😆

I've got the best present for an old friend of mine, and she'll never see it coming. she had a shitty external USB drive die with all of her old photos and artwork and stuff on it, and it took over a year with multipass ddrescue to get a disk image off it and onto my server. the filesystem is totally hosed, but photorec is scanning through it so fast now and has already found literally thousands of lost photos and artwork and stuff she had.

gonna surprise her with it sometime soon, I bet she's totally forgotten she even gave me the drive. I think it's gonna make her really really happy. 😄 💜

going to ECCW's Ballroom Brawl tonight. it's gonna be so much fun, super looking forward to it.
