hey any trans sci fi writers I should be reading? This feels like a major deficiency in my life.

@Maenad it's not hard sci fi, it's superhero stories, but I'd highly recommend Dreadnought and Sovreign by April Daniels. it was a good story, made me feel a lot of feelings.

and while she's cis, there's also our very own @guerrillarain, who writes extremely gay sci fi and fantasy serials. she's so talented, and you'd be doing yourself a disservice by not reading her work.

@nergdron @guerrillarain is already on my list. April Daniels should have been, too - I'll check those books out.

Mostly listening to a thing today about how the stories we tell about the future determine the future and realizing that I'm missing certain voices in the stories I listen to atm.

@Maenad @guerrillarain I also got this amazing collection of short stories for xmas. it's all trans authors and sci fi stores, it's called "Fitzpatrick and Plett's - Meanwhile, Elsewhere", by Topside Press. I'm only about halfway through, but every single story has hit me in my heart in one way or another. it's a truly special collection.

@nergdron @Maenad I read the first two stories before i had to return the book to the library

the first one was great and amazing but the second one was powerful but um... could've used some CWs I guess

kinda turned me off from recommending it to people tbh

@morae @Maenad oh yeah, it's heavy duty stuff that needs CWs for sure. that's a really good point.
