So I'm looking for something to collect/organize pictures – needs to support tagging well. I'd mostly use it for nice pictures from the internet that I'll need to find quickly (no, not primarily reaction gifs!).

I'd take something standalone on my laptop, but something self hosted would work, too.

Hints, tips, favourite tooling?

@rixx I discovered shotwell recently. At least it helps managing my own photo collection including tagging.
