I'm sorry i can't help, since i'm just at the 3rd episode, but maybe it's safer to be in the good mood to follow a story about trauma and mental disorders.

I did see Seirei no Moribito. Balsa is one on my favourite character. Plus the animation is amazing and the plot subtle. Don't know why it got so few attention ?
