this is my first #introductions, so, hi
i'm meena! this is my queer account. or rather, my (most of the time) non-technical account.
i'm a femme leaning enby; i speak Bosnian, German, and English, and i'm trying to learn فارسی.
i try to speak openly about my depression: https://blag.esotericsystems.at/articles/opensource-burnout/
i'm self-employed in tech, if you care about that, sometimes i say smart things over at @hirojin
my politics are mostly naïve, so, ask me in in 10 years
@bea bea, how do you pronounce your name?
the Star Wars Holiday Special has a scene where a guy is holding a piece of paper
by that token, it cannot possibly be part of the Star Wars universe.
i'm now officially your granny Afficher plus
Last night I went to Starbucks and when the guy finished my drink, he bent down and whispered, “Don’t let anyone dull your sparkle.”
I just smiled and took my drink, and while I was leaving I heard the other worker saying: “WOULD YOU STOP TELLING PEOPLE THAT? NOBODY CARES ABOUT YOUR INSPIRATIONAL SHIT!”
and the guy responded with, “Girl, there is no way in hell I am letting -you- dull my sparkle.”

i have this theory that culture, and cultural change travels across language lines
assimilation of culture is easier when you have grounds for understanding, otherwise you end up with a copy that looks like the original, but functions completely unexpectedly
transmutation, however is natural to the process. it happens more over distance (space/time), but most of all, for local context
finally, forcing culture, results in adoption thru least resistance (change), and unexpected side-effects.
So if you only use profanity during the full moon, does that make you a swearwolf?
alternative option:
the new drugs i'm on are not … compatible … yet with me
tfw you don't know if you're too hungry or too nauseaus
i have new glasses that make me look like hipster ariel, so every time i pass a mirror, i'm like https://witches.town/media/u6be8-hWHNTw3ftRcc4
i've only once cut my hand while slicing an 🥑 , and that experience didn't transform me into a vengeful cartoony evil scientist who's only goal in life is to destroy 🥑 pits, so, i guess i don't get it
wouldn't we condemn 🥑s to the same fate we condemned 🍌s to?
the process:
- write toot
- replace all occurencs of "shit" with "thing", and "fuck" with "very"
- toot!
every time i switch windows on my computer, i forget what i was doing before, and switch to that task
it's a wonderful way of getting precisely nothing done.
The general consensus seems to be:
1) 20th Century Fox owns the "Alien" franchise.
2) "Alien" xenomorphs are born from a Queen.
3) Disney is buying 20th Century Fox.
Therefore
4) Xenomorphs are Disney princesses.
