I'm working as part of a small group to decode the various signals that come from each Control Unit (In automotive terms these are the E(ngine)CUs, but in a system such as a tractor these control units are often subdivided further and even more specialized, like specifically for transmission, or arbitrating the other control units) - the project itself is fairly open-ended, and small in timescale, but we aim to reverse-engineer the signals needed to authorize new components and perform other tasks that would otherwise require a John Deere technician.
