good god, this is the most player-hostile interface i've ever seen. this looks like a joke about computer games from a 1990s console game magazine. this entire list of commands should be collapsed into two: use and equip.

if you use a useable item (scrolls, potions, wands, books, food) it uses it. if you equip an equippable item (armor, ring, amulet, armor, weapon) it flips its "currently equipped" state to on or off.

@marlyn @matt Dwarf Fortress is virtually unplayable without Dwarf Therapist and a decent tileset, at least imo

Looking at Rimworld gameplay, there are definitely more accessible and streamlined ways to rig up a "fortress builder" UI - I wonder if Toady plans to overhaul the interface, taking a few pages from their book, at some point.
