@frohman2 the older it gets, the higher the chance it's something like bad capacitors or something
could probably do something wrt seeing where the power stops flowing to narrow down what's broken, but i'm not sure if CRTs require particularly dangerous voltages or anything

@mallaidh I assume at this point it's the capacitors in that case, because there is electricity going through the power switch that directly goes to mains power, along with a perfectly fine fuse, which I found out earlier.
In this case, time to get some capacitors and see if that helps it. Might as well after all since the thing's from 1985-6 or so.
