@vantablack if you're willing/able to file a complaint with police, then you can do that because a bouncer has no authority

of course there's the whole thing of dealing with cops, so you could just threaten to do it

@mallaidh @vantablack I guess it depends on state law in US but its defo illegal for private security officers to do that in the UK.

They can only refuse you entry to the venue and/or call actual cops to get the ID checked out, only cops can seize it if they think its fake (they also need to get it back to the correct owner)

its illegal too to discriminate against LGBT+ people here so cops have "cultural awareness" training for situations like this
