curious when like mid-2000s web design with like drop shadows and gradients and rounded buttons will get to be nostalgic like geocities-era web design is now

90% of linux desktop environment websites look 100x better than the desktop environments themselves

i want to be 100% clear that if you use vim: that's cool! i don't care. use the tools that help you make things to the best of your ability.

vim (and emacs and nano and ed etc) are perhaps the worst of open source, completely incomprehensible and also not actually any better than proprietary software (sublime text, for instance)

if you describe an interface as easy to use "once you get used to it", the interface is not, in fact, easy to use

like how do you charge $200 for a compressor and not on some level feel deeply ashamed about how inaccessible you are making music production

i think people who make plugins and DAWs make it really hard to find out how much stuff costs because they're hopefully on some level ashamed that they charge this much for software

seeing someone post about getting hormones is always this mix of intense joy and stomach-clenching, vomit inducing fear matched only by the time i went on the second-tallest rollercoaster in the world

either way i still love bandcamp and the new car seat headrest song still rules carseatheadrest.bandcamp.com/

on the other hand maybe this is intentional to try and get you to buy the song and download it so you can listen to it in your media player of choice and not have to read the thoughts of random internet strangers anymore

by far the worst thing about bandcamp is that when listening to a song on the website it does force you to look at reviews from dumbasses who know nothing about anything but still think they can review music

if i could turn off the reviews section of album pages bandcamp might be the perfect website

i feel really bad right now but also i just found out car seat headrest released a new single and it's great so that makes me feel a bit better carseatheadrest.bandcamp.com/t

i should never be allowed to write speculative fiction since i will set every story in the year 2069
