@Jessiscah i think talking about performance is essential but it needs to be done in context and that's not what these writers are doing. they're saying "i saw this game was made in unity, that's why it's bad."
you can talk about performance without throwing lots and lots and lots of game developers, especially ones doing experimental, noncommercial stuff, under the bus for no reason
@Jessiscah i've played a billion games that ran poorly on my (decently powerful!) machine that were made with id tech, unreal, game maker, or custom engines. if the issue is that devs aren't prioritizing performance on low-end machines, *make that the issue*
@lycaon @Jessiscah and then you get amazingly well done games (biased) that run decently even at/under minimum specs like factorio, my laptop has half of the min specs, and runs it okay
