the democrats embrace of neoliberal political positions on everything ranging from economics to gun control is why i switched to being an independent in 2016.

free trade sucks because it kills unskilled jobs, "everyone should go to college" educational policy sucks because it's unrealistic (some people just simply DO NOT want to go to college it may surprise you to learn), taxation policy is just a less harsh version of the same shit the republicans are putting out (do i really need to say more), easily bypassed restrictions on gun ownership sucks because it inconveniences me but will not stop criminal/terrorist activity (since they will just go to the black market), world military domination sucks because for many reasons (such as the large amount of weapons that get stolen in military shipments every year and go straight to the black market, if you're wondering where the criminals are getting automatic weapons, welp, there's part of your answer) etc.

bullshit like uber and other deplorable companies *thrived* under 8 years of neoliberal policy, and continue to thrive under #45, largely because it's the same shit in all reality, just #45 has a filter problem (namely he doesn't have one).

democrats should concentrate on rebooting themselves to actually do what people want instead of this "third way" neoliberal crock. problem is, it is easier to propose free trade, highly restrictive gun control policy, "progressive tax reform" (LOL) and other bullshit neoliberal policies because at least then people will believe that the con artists we send to washington are somehow doing their jobs.

well, personally, i say, don't believe the hype.

if you want a barometer test of whether or not the democrat you voted for is a neoliberal, just see what types of gun control proposals they roll out in the next few days.

(this doesn't mean i'm not in favor of enhancing certain gun control laws, I just feel like maybe we should enhance the actual job quality that law enforcement is doing first.)

all in all, there are 2 political parties, but at the end of it, the ideology is basically the same. the only difference is the *type* of authoritarianism.

There's almost zero chance for a bright, creative player to come up with individual creative solutions to puzzles in an adventure. You learn the 'correct' answer the designer wrote, and you repeat it back by rote, or you fail. And without outside help, a crib sheet for the exam, you may fail forever.

So yeah, saw this TERF idiot earlier pulling out the hoary old "taught to be boys, and grew into men, therefore trans women are men" nonsense and I was thinking, there's an analagous situation in my life.

After high school, long ago, I went into computer science. It didn't turn me into a programmer. I was taught computer science, but it didn't resonate with me, and I never absorbed the lessons. Seems to me that's very similar to how "socialization" in that sense is BS.
