I am all kinds of aware of social justice issues and try to think of other people's experiences. Still didn't hear the word "allo" once until the Jughead fiasco a month or two ago.
Being conscious as a creator is important, but it can't replace actually having people with a wide range of experiences in your sphere of awareness.

The cool thing about federation is that you can be exposed to all kinds of interesting thought and ideas, and they're put on equal footing. This means my own account will be more interesting, richer as a result. Not only that but I will be exposed to the interests of the people I follow, and they will find even more cool people and information that they can share with me.

@bksmgglr that's more or less what i've told him, but many of the chill/smaller instances have closed registration. also, my local witch timeline has been so welcoming and great... i want him to have a similar experience
