can we also customize witches.town so that all the witchy emojis pop up first? i feel like i'm gonna use sparkles more than usual

ty everyone, sounds like amaroq is the way to go :sparkles:

i am a soft sweet marceline and i like strong princess buttercup types

@shivian @shivian @Alda i'm guessing mastodon.xyz, since that's the account you're having trouble with—witches.town servers have been great so far

oh my god mastodon is a way to be nice but in a chill way to strangers on the internet

this is all i've ever wanted in life time to MAKE SOME MOTHERFUCKERS FEEL GOOD

I CAME HERE TO BE NICE TO PEOPLE AND CHEW BUBBLE GUM AND I'M ALL OUT OF PEPPERMINT BUT NO WORRIES I TOTALLY HAVE OTHER FLAVORS SO HERE HAVE SOME GUM!

@krypteia former ~social media marketer~ who supes agrees :raising_hand:

It's remarkable the degree to which the Popular  Mechanics piece on #Mastodon misses the point.

Brand confusion/name squatting can be serious problems--IF you're using the platform as a serious marketing tool.

Most of us are here precisely because we were sick of being on a platform that was a serious marketing tool. So maybe the lack of professional tools to promote and protect your brand are mostly a feature (and I say that as an IP lawyer who kinda takes brands seriously).

i've seen lots of chatter about android apps but what's the best iOS? gotta keep up with my witches on the go

Hello and #welcome, everyone who's new to Mastodon, there's a CW function on these instances.

CW means Content Warning, and it's not necessarily about "bad" content.
Just things that people may not want to see constantly. Like politics, sports, spoilers to movies etc.

Feel free to apply these generously rather than not.

(note this does not apply on non-mastodon servers)

@lichlike ah, those are the words i couldn't find. i use this clip when i teach social norms to my undergrads, though: youtube.com/watch?v=f2rgzsO-AM

Rules of mastodon:
1) Do not talk about awoo
2) Do NOT talk about awoo
3) Always be awooing
4) Be a decent human being

@linguangst I did. Phoenix Wright sort of fits the bill but it's not as charming.

The blackwell series is great, but you're not a bird and you help souls to move on instead of solving murders.

Some old graphic adventures make you solve murders or supernatural mysteries. And there's Thimbleweed Park, which is new and makes you solve a murder.

If you enjoy being a bird you can try the late game(like 4th or 5th replay) of Hatoful Boyfriend, though I didn't like it very much.

@Rumpelcita this looks interesting. thanks!

(whoa, weird—that's my last name, so i guess i definitely have to try those)

definitely a fan of supernatural mysteries... i'll try thimbleweed park, too!

someone else rec'd that, too. tysm <3

hello witches/gamers: have any of you played aviary attorney and, if so, do you have other similar game recs? i enjoy solving murders, being a bird, lawyering in 1840s france, etc.

@dconley IT IS SO AMAZING i was so sad when it was over

@dconley this is extremely unrelated but have you ever played aviary attorney? i keep misreading your bio as "social justice bird" and well... it is a game where you are a bird lawyer in 1840s france trying to solve a murder mystery
