just a tip to other folks on here: when uploading images to mastodon you can remove the auto-generated links that show up in your post! the images won't disappear.

@ansate score! (I hope? do you like counting things?)

one day I would really like to have a job where I get to sit in a quiet room and organise and reorganise small colourful objects according to various properties, that sounds so nice. the only reason I held onto my bead collection for so long was because it was so soothing to sort it

@Keltoi oh good I remembered a thing!

I think there should be more of those nice plant walls that have water trickling down them, those are so nice

@ansate I'm glad grad school is better! I took a looong time to finish my undergrad (which was only partly in math) so I was way too burned out for that noise

what are you studying?

@Keltoi yeah! and places that are like, actually appealing to hang out in instead of being architecturally hostile (that's a thing, right?)

@ansate anyway. hello! I no longer do much/any math, but I very much appreciate the way it helped to structure my thinking

@ansate fuck statistics

I mean it's pretty neat actually, but I learned an entire stats course in 2 weeks bc I was too depressed to go to class so I don't have the best perspective on it

also the way the math dept teaches stats is stupid useless for actually doing anything with it EUGH

@Keltoi yeah. gotta work with what I can manage I guess

I wonder if local art galleries would be cool with me bringing a blanket to sit on and hanging out with people for a few hours every week

(probably not)

@Keltoi for real!!!! and like I already struggle with unnecessarily buying stuff I don't need (*shakes fist at capitalism*), but avoiding $cash$money$spaces$ means I don't go to things I might otherwise enjoy

my apartment is very nice except sometimes there are spiders on the ceiling and also I need to socialize or I'll perish

the combination of working from home, being poor, and most of my friends being online kinda sucks bc I just never leave my house

is really what my issue is

unfortunately I live in Canada, so no more parks until May 😢

I mean I can do ~winter sports~ but eugh it is not the same

@Keltoi oh no printers

🖨 🔥

I mean I think I also want indoor space where there's actually space to move around and sit in small groups without people right behind you (ie coffee shops make me anxious sometimes)

@Keltoi lol no worries

libraries are Very Important 📚
