in my defense, I've only actually shouted in a library twice, and both times it was about statistics

I know libraries exist (my local library is actually super awesome) but sometimes I get loud ok

I wish there were indoor parks for the winter

public indoor spaces where the focus is not buying stuff

@distelfliege ooh thanks for the suggestion, I'll have to check them out!

@distelfliege I tried to do one of her 30 days things and it drove me freakin crazy!

I have found one person I like, but she only has 3 videos on youtube - this ones my favourite: youtu.be/obLEZDOrRRk

*YouTube yoga instructor voice* hey what's up my yoga peeps, today we're going to get into child's pose and listen to me talk for 20 minutes, doesn't yoga make you feel ☀️ great ☀️

The next time someone tells you Santa isn't real ask them to explain this:

@DialMforMara oooh yeah try the felici, that stuff feels great! personally I find with looser tension socks I feel the purl ridges a lot more, but you could always try it!

oooh if you do colourwork socks you should show them off! I've never managed to make them, they always turn out way too big (and get turned into legwarmers) or way too small (and get turned into armwarmers). I could see the stranding helping too! I wonder if a stitch pattern with some floats would help? linen stitch maybe? (tho that's super unstretchy so a bit :/ for socks)

I've used elasticated yarn before - it's sort of weird, but it might help things feel more like commercial socks?

@DialMforMara alas, none of that is helpful then

have you ever tried those squishy foot inserts? or maybe a squishier yarn? I feel like the answer is something involving "squishy", but I can stop trying to give you advice if you'd prefer 😛

@DialMforMara huh! well, I have a few suggestions (if you'd like suggestions?):

how dense is your knitting? a denser fabric (knitted on smaller needles) could help. I use 2.5mm needles now - I find anything bigger gives me a fabric that's way too loose

how even are your stitches? if you're finding you have a few lumps here and there, you can tug sharply on your knitting in both directions - go back and forth a few times, and it'll even out your stitches a lot.

are the lumps in your heel and/or toe? personally I find turned heels way too lumpy - I like wrapped heels and toes bc they fit nicely. I also "slant" my toes a bit to fit my feet better

@DialMforMara oh! is it a fit issue, or is the yarn just too thick for your shoes?

If you're looking for a good sock book, I really recommend Kate Atherly's sock book: amazon.ca/Custom-Socks-Knit-Yo
