-flop- it is 4pm and i am ready for my workday to be done. i'm only halfway there. blargh.
tonight: vidya games, might pull the ukulele out, writing stuff. 🎉
@pixelpaperyarn ukulele! what songs do you like to play?
@linen old 80s stuff mostly. i don't play much because of my tendonitis, but it's so much fun!
@pixelpaperyarn nice! it's super fun! I really like playing pop punk (it just kind of fits well...) but atm I'm trying to get this song to work: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmDDV5s5BQg
@linen oh that's really nice!
i get most of my tabs from here: http://ukulelecheats.com/
i do it casual enough that i need charts.
@pixelpaperyarn oh cool! seems like a good site - I usually just use ultimate-guitar.com
I feel like the whole point of ukulele is to be casual 🎸
@linen oh, and http://www.chordie.com which i really like.
@pixelpaperyarn cool! at one point I download a couple charts of all the ukulele chords, though usually I just google for the weird ones
@linen i did the same thing. printouts are somewhere, i should dig them out. i have guitar charts of that stuff too, though i play that even more rarely. :) this is really inspiring me to do this for real tonight. thanks!
@pixelpaperyarn yay! motivation 💪
I've also played guitar a bit, but I find it's just too big for my hands. I'm actually considering getting a "guitalele", since then I'd have the flexibility of more strings without the size
@linen you might look at 3/4 size guitars and kids guitars. my hands are really tiny, too. i do better with electrics than acoustics for sizing. some electrics have really narrow necks i have no trouble playing.
@pixelpaperyarn oh good idea! I actually have an electric guitar + amp from a friend, but it's missing the cable (which I should really go get). I've tried electric before, but I didn't have the calluses and it really hurt my fingers
@linen witch hazel! take a cotton ball and swipe it across your finger tips once a day. it helps them toughen up pretty quickly.
@pixelpaperyarn whaaaaaat!! black magic
@pixelpaperyarn /me falls over
