today's pondering: with all the noise of everyone talking and sharing, is there any reason for me to add my flawed voice to the general cacophony? do my thoughts have any meaning other than to myself? and even if they do, is it useful for me to share them?

be it fiction or essay or link to someone else's work, sometimes i wonder if i should hold my tongue and practice silence.

the irony of saying this here is not lost on me. lol.

@pixelpaperyarn yes! you have a lot of really interesting things to say

but also, even if you weren't saying anything particularly exciting or novel, I think the real value of saying things is because it's a way to make connections with people. who cares if something's been said before - maybe you're saying it in a way someone different will understand, or in a context where it's seen by people who wouldn't have been exposed to the thought otherwise.

by talking about things, you're allowing other people to know you and feel connected, which imo is super important and the main point of sites like this. do you find value in it? then it's valuable

@linen thank you. these are things i forget sometimes. hearing it reminds me. oh look, there's that connecting thing you were talking about!

@pixelpaperyarn it can be really hard to remember on your own sometimes. asking for reassurance is hard but it's ok to need it 🙂 yay for connecting!
