#Equifax web tool for checking if you were affected by the #hack is flagged as deceptive in #FireFox, because the terms of use contain an arbitration clause as well. Holy fuck.

#Equifax is trying to get everyone hooked into an arbitration clause with free #identitytheft protection. Don't sign up or accept any terms without reading it.

your behavior is derived from the interactions between your conscious persona and the accumulation of memory and past experience with the collective unconscious in a process of continual psychological discovery, um, in this town

Listen, have you heard about this new
"LIVING DISAPPOINTED"?

doing that thing once a month where I read the AWS Blog and see what all we've launched

and oh my god the example in this post aws.amazon.com/blogs/aws/new-e

"After all, if you can’t launch Jebediah Kerman into space then what was the point of all of that software?"

The taxpayers get to use roads, right? If the taxes paid for the software, taxpayers should be able to see and verify what has been produced with it - the source code must be publicly available.

Can we do it so German government can only use open source software? Governments hiring private agencies to program for them is a disaster

if you want me to spend $1,000+ for digital audio software, come at me with something built atop a nice RTOS kernel and I'll start saving up.

Btw for those who don't know, @rhiaro is responsible for a lot of the clarity in the structure of ActivityPub. She's the reason the document is so nicely split between client to server and server to server... prior to that it was all one spec where you had to implement both.

She also just passed her PhD yesterday! Her thesis is cool and relevant: "The Presentation of Self
on a Decentralised Web" rhiaro.github.io/thesis/

Let's all give her a round of applause!

do you think the mothers and fathers of computer science knew what kind of monsters their children would become

Blegh. I really dislike websites that don't "degrade gracefully" when someone visits them without javascript enabled and/or scripts blocked.
