The "Mastodon is Dead" takes are, and will always be wrong, for as long as there's a Mastodon instance people are using and as long as there is still a Mastodon developer. It's like a "phpBB is dead" or "IRC is dead" take.
The project is still under active development and being used by the people whose needs and concerns aren't being met by consolidated social media services. There's more to it than just "decentralization" as an abstract concept.
