Never apologies for using #emoiji. They are a part of our #character sets now (as a part of #unicode). Oldie geeks might not like they, but do they like the euro sign (€)? That's part of unicode!
@ebel Well I like Unicode emojos because they are characters and not images so I can use a custom font (screw mastodon for transforming them to images btw).
But at the same time I don’t really like it because unicode lacks extensibility.
@lanodan_wtch Yep! Actual characters is better than having images, which won't age well, customisability etc.
There's been some extensibility with #unicode like the skin colour stuff. (and new characters are always added)
What are you thinking about?
@ebel Also unicode should really use modifiers/zero-width-joiner way more often so it can nicely show even if the user doesn’t have the character (for example Smiling Wolf could end up being displayed like that : 😄🐺 )
@lanodan_wtch Good point.
